Mr. Iceman and the Iciest Winter Ever
“Look at all the ice outside,” said Mr. Iceman to himself as he looked out his kitchen window. “Where did it all come from? I didn’t create it.”
Mr. Iceman went outside. He saw his neighbour, Warren.
“What did you do?” asked Warren. “The whole city of Calgary is at a standstill. I hope you are happy with yourself.”
“I didn’t create all this ice,” said Mr. Iceman.
“Save it,” said Warren, slamming the front door to his house.
Mr. Iceman felt really bad. He considered Warren his friend. He had never seen Warren so angry.
“What am I going to do?” asked Mr. Iceman to himself. “How can I make Warren understand that I didn’t create all this ice?”
Mr. Iceman walked over to Warren’s house. He knocked on Warren’s door, but Warren didn’t answer it.
“Oh!” cried Mr. Iceman. “Warren is so mad at me.”
Mr. Iceman has a special ability. He can make ice. He does this by walking along and the ice comes out through his feet. His ice is very high quality ice. He has made many ice rinks with his ice.
Mr. Iceman walked home with his head hung low. He was very upset that Warren was angry with him. About an hour later, Warren came over to Mr. Iceman’s house.
“I owe you an apology,” said Warren. “I should have known that you didn’t create all that ice. It turns out that we had a freak ice storm last night.”
“I am so happy we have that sorted out,” said Mr. Iceman. “I was pretty upset to think you were angry with me.”
“I am truly sorry that I was so angry,” said Warren.
“I forgive you,” said Mr. Iceman.
“Let’s go out and enjoy the ice,” said Warren.
“Good idea,” said Mr. Iceman.
