Bad Spring Storm

Spring Butterfly was very busy on a warm spring morning. She saw her twin brother, Black Butterfly, approaching her. She knew he was just going to cause trouble of some kind. She kept working and ignored him.

“What are you doing?” asked Black Butterfly.

“I am very busy,” said Spring Butterfly. “I guess you have heard about that nasty storm that we are going to get,” said Black Butterfly.

“I have,” said Spring Butterfly. “That is why I am so busy. I am trying to prepare Mother and I for it.”

“I doubt it will be that bad,” said Black Butterfly. “I wouldn’t bother preparing for it.”

Spring Butterfly didn’t listen to her twin brother. She felt she had to prepare for it so, that is exactly what she did.”

I think you are wasting time,” said Black Butterfly, as he flew away.

About an hour later, the storm clouds started rolling in. It started pouring rain and the winds started to pick up. Spring Butterfly and her mother were warm and dry, thanks to Spring Butterfly’s hard work.

“Can I come in?” asked Black Butterfly, a few minutes later. “I am cold and soaking wet.”

As angry as Spring Butterfly was at her twin brother, she couldn’t turn him away.

“And, what are you going to do next time a storm is coming?” asked Spring Butterfly.

“Prepare for it,” said Black Butterfly, sheepishly.

“You’d better,” said Spring Butterfly.
