Winter Blues

Billy Troll was sitting around strumming his guitar when his wife, Dianne came and sat down beside him.

“What are you doing?” asked Dianne.

“Just working on a new song,” said Billy. “But I just can’t seem to concentrate. Dianne, I think I’ve got the winter blues.”

“Oh Billy,” said Dianne. “That is terrible.”

“I can’t think straight,” said Billy. “I’m not getting any inspiration for my songs at all.”

“Billy,” said Dianne. “I think you need a holiday.”

“A holiday,” said Billy. “But Dianne, that is all I do is travel.”

“Yes, for work,” said Dianne. “But I’m talking about a vacation. No concerts, no fans, just a regular vacation.”

“Come to think of it,” said Billy. “That is a wonderful idea but where would we go?”

“I have an idea,” said Dianne. “How about Troll Paradise?”

“You mean our honeymoon spot,” said Billy.

“Yes,” said Dianne. “It is nice and warm there and it is private. We could have a lot of fun.”

“Okay,” said Billy. “Let’s do it.”

Dianne made the travel arrangements the next morning and by the next weekend, Billy and Dianne were on a private jet headed to Troll Paradise.

“It is so beautiful here,” commented Dianne, as they stepped off the plane.

“It sure is,” said Billy.

Billy and Dianne spent the next two days relaxing. On the third morning, Billy let Dianne sleep in. He sat at the desk, sipping his morning coffee and then song after song came to him. He was so enthralled in writing down his new ideas that he didn’t even hear Dianne waking up.

“That’s what I like to see,” said Dianne. “The creative juices flowing.”

Dianne went to the closet of their hotel room and pulled out a guitar.

“You knew this would happen,” said Billy. “Didn’t you?”

“Remember our honeymoon,” said Dianne.

“Oh yes,” said Billy. “I do!”

On their honeymoon, Billy wrote a whole album while on Troll Paradise.

“I’m going shopping,” said Dianne, giving Billy a kiss on his forehead.
