Snow Fairy’s Cold Snap

Snow Fairy was sitting in her home. It was a brutally cold, winter day. Snow Fairy was shivering. She heard a knock on her door.

“Rambler!” exclaimed Snow Fairy, seeing her friend, Rambler Rabbit at her door. “What a nice surprise.”

“I know you don’t like the cold,” said Rambler, handing a parcel to Snow Fairy.

“What is this?” asked Snow Fairy.

“Open it up,” said Rambler.

Snow Fairy opened the parcel and inside it was a beautiful pair of homemade knitted slippers.

“These are beautiful,” said Snow Fairy, putting them on. “They are so warm, too. Thank you very much.”

“I made them for you,” said Rambler.

“That was so nice of you,” said Snow Fairy.

“I know that we have been in a cold snap,” said Rambler. “I was concerned about you.”

“I appreciate that,” said Snow Fairy. “This cold snap seems to be lasting forever. I sure wish it would end.”

“It will,” said Rambler. “Just not sure when.”

Snow Fairy shivered.

“Is your furnace working?” asked Rambler. “It seems really cold in here.”

“It stopped working,” said Snow Fairy. “I have called the repairman but he is really busy. He will fix it as soon as he can.”

“Do you have any firewood?” asked Rambler.

“There is some in the back room,” said Snow Fairy.

Rambler helped Snow Fairy build a fire. Soon, Snow Fairy was cozy warm.

“Would you like a cup of tea and a piece of carrot cake?” asked Snow Fairy.

“I would love some,” said Rambler.

Snow Fairy and Rambler enjoyed a cup of tea and some carrot cake.

“I really appreciate our friendship,” said Snow Fairy. “You are always there for me when I need you.”

“That’s what friends are for,” said Rambler.
