Friends Forever
“I am so sad,” cried Fawn, one evening at the dinner table.
“Why?” asked Spot. “I thought you spent the day with Daisy.”
“Yes,” said Fawn, but that wasn’t what made me sad. “I am sad because Daisy is going to be moving next week.”
“Oh Fawn!” exclaimed Spot. “I am sorry. I know Daisy is your best friend.”
“What will I do when she is gone?” asked Fawn.
“You will just have to find a new friend,” said Spot.
“I suppose,” said Fawn. “But what about Daisy. I will miss her and I will never see her again.”
“Fawn,” said Spot. “Just because Daisy is moving does not mean that you will never see her again. You can talk to her on the computer whenever you want.”
“True,” said Fawn. “I will still miss her though.”
“Yes,” said Spot. “And that is okay to miss her. You know distance will make your friendship stronger.”
“I don’t know,” said Fawn.
Fawn got up from the table and went to his room. He was really sad over the next week and when moving day came, Fawn did not even get out of bed. Spot was really starting to get worried about him.
“Daisy!” exclaimed Spot, the next morning, when Daisy showed up at the front door. “I thought you were moving.”
“I thought so too,” said Daisy. “But apparently I’m not.”
“I know someone that is going to be very happy to see you,” said Spot.
Spot took Daisy to Fawn’s bedroom door and knocked.
“What?” asked Fawn, grumpily.
“There is someone here that you really would like to see,” said Spot.
“Go away!” exclaimed Fawn. “The only one I want to see is Daisy.”
“Awee!” exclaimed Daisy.
The barn went silent for a moment and within a minute, Fawn’s bedroom door opened.
“Daisy!” exclaimed Fawn. “What are you doing here? I thought you had moved yesterday.”
“I thought I was moving too,” said Daisy. “But I’m not moving.”
Fawn was so happy and overjoyed. He hugged Daisy as tears flowed from his eyes.
“Daisy,” said Fawn. “I am so glad you aren’t moving.”
“Me too,” said Daisy, with tears flowing down her cheeks.
