Happy Halloween
“Happy Halloween Spot,” said Fawn.
“What are you talking about?” asked Spot. “Halloween is not a time to be happy.”
“Sure it is,” said Fawn. “I’m going to go trick-or-treating tonight and I’m going to get bags and bags of candy.”
“Well you will have lots of fun then all by yourself,” said Spot. “I won’t be coming with you.”
“But Spot,” said Fawn. “You promised me you’d go trick-or-treating with me.”
Fawn was very disappointed. He was looking forward to going trick-or-treating with Spot.
“How come you can’t come trick-or-treating with me?” asked Fawn, after he spent about five minutes sulking.
“I have to go to the dentist this afternoon,” said Spot.
“Oh no you don’t,” said Fawn.
“What are you talking about?” asked Spot.
“Your dentist called and cancelled your dentist appointment until tomorrow,” said Fawn.
“When did they call?” asked Spot, not sure if she believed Fawn or not.
“While you were in the shower,” said Fawn.
“Okay,” said Spot, remembering that she thought she heard the phone ring when she was in the shower. “I guess that means that I can come trick-or-treating with you tonight.”
“Goodie,” said Fawn. “But guess what?”
“What?” asked Spot.
“You won’t be able to eat any of the candy that you get,” said Fawn.
“That is true,” said Spot.
“So I guess I’ll get all your candy plus mine,” laughed Fawn.
