Apartment 1 – 2019 Resolution for Ugly Sally

“Ugly Sally is our first guest,” said Hop Out to his twin brother, Hop In, as he waved Ugly Sally over to the office in the New Year’s Building.

“Welcome,” said Hop Out, shaking Ugly Sally’s hand.

“Thank you for inviting me to the New Year’s Building,” said Ugly Sally. “I am very excited to be here.”

“We are very happy to have you,” said Hop In, motioning Ugly Sally to have a seat. “We are here to make sure you hop out of 2018 and hop in to 2019 smoothly.”

“That is wonderful,” said Ugly Sally.

“First of all,” said Hop Out. “Do you have any regrets in regards to 2018?”

“I do regret not helping my parents out more,” said Ugly Sally. “They are my adoptive parents but they have been so kind to me and they would do anything for me.”

“Is there a reason you didn’t help them out more?” asked Hop Out. “It sounds like they love you very much. Could there be some resentment toward them because they are not your real parents?”

“They do love me very much,” said Ugly Sally. “And no, I don’t resent them at all. If my adoptive father didn’t find me in my crib that day, I wouldn’t have survived. The Tamarack Clan of monsters wiped out my clan, the Pinecrest Clan. They killed my parents and the rest of my tribe except for my Uncle Joe. He was away at the time of the attack. As for me, they didn’t see me in my crib.”

“So,” said Hop Out. “Why haven’t you helped out your parents more?”

“To be honest,” said Ugly Sally. “I have just been lazy.”

“That is being honest, “said Hop Out.

“How do you think you can rectify that in 2019?” asked Hop In.

“When my parents ask me to do something,” said Ugly Sally. “I should just get up and do it and stop procrastinating.”

“And will that be your resolution for 2019?” asked Hop In.

“Yes,” said Ugly Sally. “That sounds like a good resolution to me.”

“Do you think that resolution will help you to hop out of 2018 and hop in to 2019 smoothly?” asked Hop In.

“Oh definitely,” said Ugly Sally. “By me helping my parents more in 2019 and not procrastinating, it will help me not feel so guilty about not helping them more in 2018.”

“Perfect,” said Hop Out. “Ugly Sally, I believe you are ready to hop out of 2018 smoothly.”

“And,” said Hop In. “I believe you are ready to hop in to 2019 smoothly.”

“Wonderful,” said Ugly Sally.

“Have a wonderful stay in the New Year’s Building,” said Hop Out.

“Happy New Year!” exclaimed Ugly Sally.

Moral of this Story:
