Lucky Leprechaun and Fool’s Gold

“I am so happy today,” said Lucky Leprechaun. “It is St. Patrick’s Day and I feel lucky as well.”

Lucky Leprechaun looked at himself in the mirror and made sure he was well-groomed. He made sure his hat was placed perfectly on his head. He made sure his teeth were gleaming and his hair was properly brushed. He also made sure he didn’t have any wrinkles in his suit.

He stepped out of the bedroom and heard a knock at the door. When he opened the door a man was yelling at him and shaking his fists at him.

“Little leprechaun!” yelled the man. “I want a pot of gold and I want it now!”

“Where are your manners?” asked Lucky.

“I don’t have time for manners,” yelled the man. “I just want my gold and from what I understand, you have to give it to me.”

Lucky was distraught at the way the man was treating him. He didn’t want to give the man any gold whatsoever because of the way the man was behaving but he had no choice. A leprechaun must give someone a pot of gold if they ask for one, even someone who was as rude as this man was.

“I don’t have all day,” yelled the man.

Lucky went upstairs to his attic and lifted up a pot of gold. He was just about to take it downstairs when the man started yelling at him again. Lucky spotted a pot of fool’s gold in the corner. He went over to it and picked it up. He took the pot of fool’s gold downstairs and handed it to the man.

“It is about time,” said the man. “You fool!”

The man took the pot of gold from Lucky and left immediately without even a thank you.

“I am pretty sure you are the fool,” laughed Lucky.
