Troll Family’s Rainy, Summer Day

“We can’t go outside today,” said Troll Brother, looking out the window and seeing that it was another rainy day.

“I know,” said Troll Mother. “It is another rainy, summer day.”

“What are we going to do?” asked Troll Sister.

Troll Mother knew the troll children were getting tired of the rain. She needed to come up with something fun for them to do.

“Let’s make a mess,” said Troll Mother.

The three troll children stood and stared at Troll Mother. They never heard her tell them to make a mess. They had only ever heard her tell them to clean up their mess.

Troll Mother went into the kitchen and took down some mixing bowls, some flour and some food colouring as well as a few other ingredients. She made three bowls of homemade play dough. The troll children loved it. They played with it for hours.

“What did everyone do today?” asked Troll Daddy, when he came home from work.

“We made a mess,” laughed Troll Baby.

“Troll Mother told us to,” said Troll Sister.

Troll Daddy was confused until he saw the three bowls of homemade play dough.

“I want to make a mess too,” laughed Daddy, as he sat down and played with the play dough with the troll children.
