It was an extremely hot summer day. The Fresh Veggie family were in the barn practicing.
“Cameron,” said Christopher Corn, noticing the amount of sweat on his forehead. “I think you should rest for a bit. You haven’t stopped dancing all morning.”
“I was just wanting to get this dance routine perfect,” said Cameron Cauliflower.
“I do appreciate that,” said Christopher. “However, your health comes first.”
“You are right,” said Cameron, feeling his head. “I am roasting.”
“Roasted Cauliflower,” said Farmer Fred, coming into the barn. “Now, that sounds good. I am getting hungry.”
“Cameron has been dancing all morning,” said Christopher. “He needs to rest for a bit.”
Farmer Fred felt Cameron’s forehead.
“He is burning up,” said Farmer Fred. “He could end up with heat stroke. Cameron, you sit down. Christopher, please get some water into him. I will be right back.”
Farmer Fred returned a few minutes later with a huge bucket of ice. He picked Cameron up and set him into the bucket. Within minutes, Cameron was feeling much better.
“When it is this warm,” said Farmer Fred. “You all need to stay as cool as possible.”
“No more roasted cauliflower here,” said Christopher.
“No,” said Farmer Fred, pulling Cameron out of the bucket of ice. “Now we have frozen cauliflower.”
