Snow Fairy

In the woods in Calgary, Alberta, Snow Fairy was huddled in her den. She was nice and warm at the moment and that made her very happy.

Snow Fairy is the sweetest and most innocent creature in the woods. She was born in the midst of a very cold winter. She is always cold but she never complains.

Snow Fairy knew that she would have to go outside because she needed to get some fresh air. However, she knew that if she went outside, she would get cold and she didn’t like that idea at all.

“If I go outside,” said Snow Fairy. “Then, I will need to find a way to keep warm.”

Snow Fairy put on her snow boots, big winter coat, hat, scarf and mittens and ventured outdoors. She was expecting it to be cold, but not as cold as it was. Snow Fairy was so cold that she was shivering.

“You look cold,” said a snowshoe rabbit, poking his head out from his den.

“I am cold,” said Snow Fairy.

“Would you like a nice warm cup of hot chocolate?” asked the rabbit.

“That would be wonderful,” said Snow Fairy.

The rabbit motioned for her to follow him into his den.

“I will wait here,” said Snow Fairy, suddenly not trusting the rabbit. “I should go.”

“I am sorry,” said the rabbit. “I understand that we don’t know each other.”

“We are strangers,” said Snow Fairy.

“Yes we are,” said the rabbit. “But, wait here and I will bring you a cup of hot chocolate.”

Snow Fairy waited and within a few minutes the rabbit brought her a cup of hot chocolate. She was very grateful for the warmth.

“Thank you,” said Snow Fairy. “That was very kind of you.”

“Stop by anytime,” said the rabbit.

“We aren’t strangers now,” said Snow Fairy.

“True,” said the rabbit. “Although, I don’t know your name.”

“My name is Snow Fairy,” said Snow Fairy. “What is your name?”

“I am Rambler,” said the rabbit.

“It is nice to meet you,” said Snow Fairy, seeing some dark clouds brewing in the sky. “I do have to get home though before it storms.”

“Yes,” said Rambler. “Those clouds look nasty.”

“Thank you for the hot chocolate,” said Snow Fairy, handing Rambler the cup back.

“I am glad it warmed you up,” said Rambler.

“It definitely did,” said Snow Fairy.

Snow Fairy felt much warmer after the cup of hot chocolate. She was very thankful to her new friend, Rambler.

Moral of this Story:

  • Always be careful when first meeting someone new.
  • Example: Snow Fairy did not want to go into Rambler’s den with him because they were strangers.
