Environment Bug – Don’t Litter
“Hi there!” exclaimed Environment Bug to a young boy sitting on a park bench.
“Hello yourself,” said the young boy, who was eating a sandwich.
“Nice day today,” said Environment Bug.
“Yes,” said the boy, tossing the aluminum wrapper behind him, onto the ground. “It is a nice day.”
“Why did you do that?” asked Environment Bug.
“Do what?” asked the boy.
“Throw your wrapper on the ground,” said Environment Bug.
“Oh that,” said the boy. “I don’t know.”
“You really shouldn’t do that,” said Environment Bug.
“Why?” asked the boy. “Me and my friends do it all the time.”
Just then a bird flew down and grabbed the wrapper in its beak.
“For that reason,” said Environment Bug. “Now that poor bird is going to try eating that wrapper and could become very sick from it.”
Luckily the bird dropped the wrapper and fly away. The boy got up, picked up the wrapper and threw it into the garbage bin.
“That is better,” said Environment Bug.
“Yes,” said the boy. “And I feel better too.”
“Good,” said Environment Bug. “What is your name?”
“Scott,” said the boy.
“Well Scott,” said Environment Bug. “My name is Environment Bug and I am very proud of you.”
“Thank you,” said Scott. “I will make sure I tell all my friends not to litter anymore.”
“Wonderful,” said Environment Bug.
