Seeing Red
Sitting on the porch in front of his house, Billy Troll strummed his guitar. As he strummed, a song began to form. Dianne Troll, Billy’s wife, listened while she read her book.
“Seeing red,” sang Billy. “Seeing red is what love is all about.”
“Billy,” said Dianne, putting down her book. “I love it!”
“Really,” said Billy.
“Yes,” said Dianne. “That song has potential. I love the beat and the lyrics. I’m telling you it is going to be a hit.”
“It just came to me,” said Billy. “You sure you really like it?”
“Absolutely,” said Dianne. “I think it should be the opening number for the Valentine’s Day Concert.”
“What Valentine’s Day Concert?” asked Billy.
“Oh oh!” exclaimed Dianne. “There is a Valentine’s Day Concert at the Troll Town Winter Festival. It is going to be great. Please say you’ll do it.”
“Do I have a choice?” asked Billy.
“Well, no, not really,” laughed Dianne.
“That is what I was afraid of,” said Billy. “I guess that is what I get for being married to a concert promoter.”
“Call it a fringe benefit,” said Dianne, leaning over to give her husband a kiss.
Billy worked very hard over the next few days on his new song and his wife was right, it was an instant hit. The fans roared when they heard it.
“Told you,” said Dianne.
“You were right again,” said Billy.
