A Jelliful Winter

It was the middle of winter. The Winter Jellies were sitting in their kitchen trying to figure out what they were going to do that day.

“We could go for a nice walk,” said Citrus.

“That is a wonderful idea,” said Spearmint. “I have been wanting to go for a walk on that new path we found the other day.”

“That would be great,” said Peppermint. “However, have either of you looked outside?”

“No,” said Citrus, getting up to take a look.

Citrus looked out the kitchen window. She was disappointed when she saw that it was sunny outside. The sky was clear, not a cloud in sight.

“What happened to winter?” cried Citrus. “We can’t go outside when it doesn’t look like winter.”

“I guess we will have to stay inside,” said Peppermint.

“Yes,” said Spearmint. “How can we enjoy winter if it doesn’t look like winter?”

“I agree,” said Peppermint.

The Winter Jellies were sad and disappointed. They decided it would be a good day to do some cleaning.

“I can’t believe this,” said Spearmint, about an hour later. “I just looked outside and saw a big dark cloud heading our way.”

The Winter Jellies dropped their mops and brooms and went outside to enjoy the winter weather.

“Let’s go for that walk,” said Citrus.

“Good idea,” said Peppermint.

Moral of this Story:

  • Always try to get outside and enjoy winter weather.
  • Example: The Winter Jellies were disappointed because it did not look like winter outside.
