The Gum Drop Family See a Rainbow

“It is raining outside today,” said Mommy Gum Drop as she peered over the top of the crystal candy bowl she lived in with her family.

“Yes,” said Uncle Sour Gum Drop. “It is raining. It seems that is all that it does do. I am fed up with it.”

“I don’t know why you get so miserable about the rain,” said Mommy. “There is nothing you or anyone else can do about it. ”

“Rain, rain,” sang Baby Gum Drop, dancing. “Go away. Baby Gum Drop wants to go and play.”

“Baby has the right idea,” said Uncle Sour, smiling.

“I wonder who taught him that song,” said Mommy.

“I wonder,” laughed Uncle Sour.

“It is good to see you smile,” said Mommy.

“Baby is just too cute,” said Uncle Sour. “He always seems to brighten my day.”

“Yes,” said Mommy. “He does seem to be the only one that can put you in a good mood.”

Baby Gum Drop stood looking over the edge of the candy bowl watching the rain drops hit the window. Soon the rain stopped. The sun was starting to come out. A brightly coloured rainbow lit up the sky.

“Look!” exclaimed Baby, pointing toward the rainbow. “The rain stopped and made the sky so colourful.”

“Yes,” said Mommy. “The sky is very colourful with that rainbow.”

“Pretty rainbow,” said Baby.

“It certainly is,” said Uncle Sour.
