A Helpful Suggestion
“Hello Mitchell the Miner,” said Barry the Banker, watching him walk up to his teller window. “It is nice to see you again. How can I help you?”
“I would like to withdraw a large amount of money out of my savings account,” said Mitchell the Miner.
“This is the second time this week you have withdrawn a large sum of money,” said Barry, as he looked over Mitchell’s account.
“Yes,” said Mitchell. “I am doing some research for a book I am writing about the life of a miner.”
“You do know that if you went through a traditional publisher,” said Barry. “Your expenses would be paid for.”
“I don’t know any publishers,” said Mitchell. “I really wanted to self-publish my book.”
“Well,” said Barry the Banker. “I just happen to know one. My aunt owns a publishing company.”
“I doubt she would be interested in my book,” said Mitchell.
“You don’t know until you try,” said Barry.
“True,” said Mitchell.
Barry set up a meeting for Mitchell with his Aunt Stella. Stella was enthralled with Mitchell’s book. She signed him up to her publishing company right away.
“Hello Mitchell,” said Barry the Banker, about a week later. “How can I help you today?”
“I wish to deposit my first installment and expense cheque from your aunt’s publishing company,” said Mitchell.
“Now that is what I like to hear,” said Barry.
