Missy Big Words – Interesting

“How would you like to go camping in the mountains next weekend?” asked Daddy, one evening after dinner.

“That sounds very interesting,” said Missy Big Words.

“Now there is a big word that you just used,” said Daddy.

“Interesting,” said Missy Big Words. “Yes, that is a big word, isn’t it?”

“It certainly is,” said Daddy. “Do you know what it means?”

“Interesting means to be catching someone’s attention or curiosity,” said Missy Big Words.

“That is right,” said Daddy. “I am so proud of you.”

“It is interesting that we are going camping in the mountains,” said Missy Big Words. “I have never been to the mountains.”

“What do you think will be the most interesting part of it?” asked Daddy.

“Waking up and seeing the mountains,” said Missy Big Words. “That will be the most interesting.”

“Yes,” said Daddy. “Do you know what else will be interesting?”

“What?” asked Missy Big Words.

“There is a good chance that we will see lots of wild animals,” said Daddy.

“Really!” exclaimed Missy Big Words. “That will be interesting. I love animals. What kind of animals will we see?”

“Bears, mountain sheep, hawks, bald eagles and maybe some elk,” said Daddy.

“Oh!” exclaimed Missy Big Words. “This camping trip is getting more and more interesting all the time.”

The next weekend came along and Missy Big Words and Daddy had their tent all set up. They saw almost every type of wild animal that lived in the mountains. They went on a hike and got to explore the mountainous area. They were enjoying themselves immensely.

At nightfall, Daddy built a small campfire and they roasted marshmallows.

“Look behind you,” said Daddy, pointing to the sky.

“Now that is the most interesting thing I have ever seen,” said Missy Big Words as she saw the northern lights dancing in the sky.
