Squealer

“Spot!” exclaimed Fawn. “What is all that noise? It sounds like it is coming from the far side of the old barn.”

Spot listened. She could hear the noise that Fawn was talking about.

“It sounds like piglets!” exclaimed Spot.

“Yes it does,” said Fawn. “But where did they come from?”

“I don’t know,” said Spot. “Let’s go find out.”

Fawn and Spot saw Mr. Hansen out in the barn yard. He was unloading something from the pickup truck.

“Oh look!” exclaimed Spot. “Mr. Hansen is unloading piglets! Aren’t they adorable?”

Each piglet squealed loudly as Mr. Hansen unloaded them and set them in the barn.

“Adorable!” exclaimed Fawn. “They certainly aren’t and boy, they are really noisy!”

“Yes,” admitted Spot. “They are noisy but they certainly are cute.”

Spot really liked the piglets with their bright pink skin and their curly little tails.

“I don’t think they are so cute,” said Fawn.

“Fawn!” exclaimed Spot. “How can you say that? They are the cutest little things I’ve ever seen.”

“Suppose you think that is cute,” said Fawn, laughing, as he pointed to a little piglet that had buried himself in mud.”

“Well,” said Spot, laughing when she saw what Fawn was pointing at. “I guess they aren’t so cute after all.”
