Thermostat is Stuck

“I have made a beautiful winter day today,” said Mr. Winter. “I am in such a good mood today. I think I will buy some flowers for Victoria.”

Mr. Winter went to the florist shop but he saw it was closed. He was so angry. He couldn’t understand how it could be closed.

“That is it!” screamed Mr. Winter running over to the thermometer he uses to control winter weather. “I am going to turn the thermostat down and make it so cold that everyone will suffer.”

Mr. Winter went to the thermostat and tried to turn it down but it was stuck.

“What is going on?” asked Mr. Winter. “Now, I can’t even turn the thermostat down!”

Mr. Winter went to get his toolbox. He took his flashlight out and saw a piece of wood jammed up against the thermostat. He took out a screwdriver and after about fifteen minutes he finally got the piece of wood out.

He was just about to turn the thermostat down when he saw the florist shop was open.

“I was here earlier,” said Mr. Winter. “You were closed.”

“We open at 9,” said the clerk.

Mr. Winter looked at his watch and saw it was only ten minutes to nine. He was glad he didn’t turn the thermostat down.

“I would like to order a huge bouquet of flowers,” said Mr. Winter, sheepishly.
