Jayden’s Missing Flowers

Jayden was in her flower garden. It was a beautiful summer day. Jayden was very pleased to see that she had seven beautiful purple flowers growing. She picked one of them and put it up to her nose. It smelled heavenly.

“What beautiful flowers these are!” exclaimed Jayden.

Jayden had some chores to do so she left the garden to do them. A short while later, she heard a noise and it sounded like it was coming from the direction of her flower garden.

“Oh no!” cried Jayden. “I only have four flowers left. Someone is stealing them.”

What Jayden didn’t know was that there was a squirrel poking his nose out from behind the tree that was right next to the garden.

Jayden was very disappointed. However, she had to get her chores done.

A little while later,

Jayden heard the same noise as she heard before. She quickly went to her garden.

What is going on?” asked Jayden to herself, seeing that she only had one pretty flower left. “Where are all my flowers?”

Jayden caught a glimpse of a squirrel sitting on her garden wall.

“You!” pointed Jayden to the squirrel, angrily.

“You stole my flowers! Why did you do that?”

“I am sorry,” said the squirrel. “These flowers are so beautiful that I couldn’t help it.”

“I have to agree,” said Jayden, still holding onto the one flower she had picked earlier. “They are beautiful.”

“I promise I won’t do it again,” said the squirrel.

“Then I forgive you,” said Jayden. “There is no sense crying over missing flowers.”

“Thank you,” said the squirrel.
