I’m a little green man with a little green hat. On my hat, I have a shamrock that dangles down in front of it. I have a lot of luck because of this shamrock. I am a lucky leprechaun.
Leprechauns come from Ireland and I am no different. I was born in Dublin, Ireland. My parents are leprechauns and their parents are leprechauns. In fact, my whole family consists of leprechauns. We are a family of lucky leprechauns.
Each day, I go outside into the green pastures close to my home. You see, I don’t have to work. I am a leprechaun and that means that I have lots of money. I am a lucky leprechaun.
While outside I run and jump and play in the fields. Sometimes it does rain in Ireland, in fact it probably rains about half the time. On these days, I still go outside because after the rain ends, a rainbow appears and we all know what is at the end of the rainbow. I am a lucky leprechaun.
At the end of each rainbow is a pot of gold. I go around to the ends of all rainbows that I see and collect the pots of gold. Sometimes I keep the gold all to myself and other times I share the gold with my family and good friends. Once in a while, I might just give away a pot of gold to someone in need, just because I feel like it. I am a lucky leprechaun.
One day, I spotted the biggest pot of gold that I had ever seen. There, at the end of the rainbow it shone and glittered. I went over to it and tried to pick it up, but I couldn’t lift it. It was really heavy. I really didn’t need that pot of gold anyway, so I just left it there. I am a lucky leprechaun.
Over the edge of the field, I saw a little girl crying underneath a tree. I asked her what was the matter and she explained to me that her father had just been laid off his job and that they had no money. I pointed to the rainbow in the sky and explained to her that there was a pot of gold at the end of it and that if she could lift that pot of gold up she could have it. I am a lucky leprechaun.
The little girl got up, went straight over to the end of the rainbow and as if by magic, she lifted up the pot of gold. That is for you my love, I explained to her. Take it and enjoy it. The smile on her face made my heart glow. Oh, I really am a lucky leprechaun.
