Happy Heart and a Ring for Valentine’s Day

“You know,” said Mommy Balloon, who was deep in thought on Valentine’s Day. “We might be just balloons but we are probably the happiest family there is.”

“Yes,” said Daddy Balloon, with just a little bit of hesitation. “I agree.”

“What is with the hesitation?” asked Mommy Balloon. “Are we not the happiest family? Am I missing something?”

“I know we are the happiest family,” said Daddy Balloon. “I am sorry if I hesitated. I have something I am trying to think about.”

“Oh,” said Mommy Balloon.” What is it? Perhaps I can help.”

“Don’t worry your pretty little head about it, “said Daddy Balloon. “I will figure it out.”

“Okay,” said Mommy Balloon. “Let’s fly over to the park for our Valentine’s Day picnic.”

“Sure,” said Daddy Balloon.” You go ahead with the children. I will be there soon.”

Mommy Balloon took Sissy Balloon and Baby Balloon to the park. This gave Daddy Balloon some time alone to try and come up with a solution to the problem he was having.

“No matter what,” said Daddy Balloon sadly. “I just can’t seem to find a solution to my problem.”

“What is the problem you are having?” asked a voice on the ground.

“Who are you?” asked Daddy Balloon.

“I am Happy Heart,” said the voice. “I am here to spread love and happiness to everyone on Valentine’s Day.”

“It is nice to meet you,” said Daddy Balloon. “My name is Daddy Balloon. I bought my wife a ring for Valentine’s Day but I wasn’t thinking. See, we are balloons. I am afraid if I give her the ring, she is bound to lose it.”

“That is a problem,” said Happy Heart. “However, you could put the ring on a chain and you could tie the chain to the end of her balloon.”

“Now that is the perfect idea,” said Daddy Balloon. “A chain would actually work.”

Happy Heart just so happened to have a chain in her pocket. She gave it a Daddy Balloon.

“Thank you so much,” said Daddy Balloon, putting the ring on the chain. “You have saved Valentine’s Day.”

Daddy Balloon took the ring and chain to the park where Mommy Balloon and the children were setting up the picnic.

“Happy Valentine’s Day,” said Daddy Balloon handing the ring and chain to Mommy Balloon.

“It is beautiful,” said Mommy Balloon.

Daddy Balloon smiled as he tied the chain to the end of Mommy’s balloon.

“That was the problem I was trying to solve,” said Daddy Balloon. “I couldn’t figure out a way for you to wear the ring and not lose it.”

“The chain is a perfect solution,” said Mommy Balloon.

Yes,” said Daddy Balloon. “I did have some help from Happy Heart.”

“Thank you,” waved Mommy Balloon to Happy Heart, below.

“I am just happy everything worked out,” smiled Happy Heart. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
