Summer Nights
”It sure is peaceful out here on the porch,” said Dianne Troll.
“Yes it is,” said Billy Troll, laying his guitar down and putting his arm around Dianne. ”You know something, Dianne, life is wonderful.”
Billy and Dianne have only been married for about a month. They both feel as if they are still on their honeymoon. They are probably the happiest couple in Troll Town.
“There is something about a summer night in Troll Town,” said Billy, picking his guitar up. ”Something mystical and magical.”
Billy started strumming his guitar.
”A summer night in Troll Town,” sang Billy. “There’s just something about it. Something wonderful and mystical and magical. The way the silvery moon shines through the tree tops. The way the stars glitter in your eyes. Oh, there is
something about a summer night in Troll Town.”
”Oh Billy!” cried Dianne. ”What a wonderful song!”
”You think so,” said Billy, modestly.
”Oh Billy!” exclaimed Dianne. ”It’s the most beautiful song I have ever heard!”
”Thank you,” said Billy. ”I think I will play it at this years Summer Concert.”
“That gives me a wonderful idea as the theme for this years concert,” said Dianne. ”Troll Town’s Summer Nights Concert.”
”What a great idea!” exclaimed Billy. ”You could use my new song as the theme song.”
”Yes,” said Dianne. ”That would be great!”
Billy and Dianne spent the next few weeks preparing for the concert. Billy wrote a few new songs while Dianne was busy going to all the radio and television stations in and around Troll Town, promoting what everyone came to know as the hottest event of the year.
Billy was great at the concert. The fans especially loved his new song.
“What a great performance that was!” exclaimed Dianne, after the concert.
“Thank you, Mrs. Troll” said Billy, giving Dianne a hug and kiss. “And thank you, Troll Town.”
