Angry Baker’s Caramel Easter Dessert

“Oh no!” screamed Angry Baker angrily at the top of his lungs. “How can I be out of chocolate? How a I going to finish all my Easter dessert orders?”

“What is going on?” asked Angry Baker’s fiancĂ©e, Melissa, going into the back room to find out why Angry Baker was so angry.

“I don’t have any chocolate left,” said Angry Baker, ripping boxes down off the shelves and finding only boxes of caramel.

“I am pretty sure you just had some chocolate delivered,” said Melissa, calmly. “I will call over to the office and see if we have any left in the warehouse.”

Melissa worked at the National Sugar Distributing Company. She called her office and was told that because of the Easter holiday, they were all out of chocolate too.

“Are you kidding me?” yelled Angry Baker when Melissa told him that the warehouse was all out of chocolate. “What am I going to do now?”

“What exactly do you need the chocolate for?” asked Melissa.

“I created a brand new Easter dessert,” said Angry Baker. “It is a lemon cake for the bottom and top layers with a layer of fresh strawberries in the middle. Then, I pour melted chocolate on the top and let it drizzle down the sides.”

“That sounds heavenly,” said Melissa.

“Oh believe me,” said Angry Baker. “It is.”

“Have any of your customers seen this new Easter dessert?” asked Melissa.

“No,” said Angry Baker. “They haven’t.”

“Why don’t you use caramel instead?” said Melissa. “You have at least three full boxes of it.”

“I wonder,” said Angry Baker. “I wonder if that would work.”

“I think it would,” said Melissa.

“Will they notice though?” asked Angry Baker. “I don’t want to deceive them.”

“If they haven’t seen it yet,” said Melissa. “Then, how would they know. Besides, you don’t have much of a choice.”

“You are right,” said Angry Baker. “I do have to fill these orders.”

Angry Baker baked his Easter dessert and drizzled melted caramel on the top of them.

“That looks amazing,” said Melissa.

“I think so too,” said Angry Baker.

Just then, Mrs. Smith, one of Angry Baker’s best customers came into the bakery to pick up her Easter dessert order.

“Caramel,” said Mrs. Smith, looking at the cake she had just paid for. “Interesting.”

“Is that a problem?” asked Angry Baker.

“Oh no,” said Mrs. Smith. “I love caramel.”

Just after the Easter holiday, all of the customers who ordered the new Easter dessert, including Mrs. Smith, came into the bakery to tell Angry Baker how much they enjoyed it.

“Thank you,” said Angry Baker.

Once everyone had left the bakery he gave Melissa a big kiss and hug.

“You saved me from the chocolate disaster,” said Angry Baker.

“You are welcome dear,” said Melissa.
