Baby Face Monster Learns About Valentine’s Day
Ellie was very busy with her research on Baby Face Monster. She was trying to find out about his origins and whether more of his kind existed.
“Are you getting anywhere with your research?” Baby Face asked, poking his head into her make-shift lab.
“No,” said Ellie. “Not yet but I will. It is just going to take some time.”
“Why don’t you take a break?” asked Baby Face.
“That is a good idea,” said Ellie. “I am starting to get a headache.”
Ellie cleaned up some of the papers that she had laying on her desk when she saw her calendar.
“Oh dear!” exclaimed Ellie. “I didn’t realize this but today is February 14, Valentine’s Day.”
“What is Valentine’s Day?” asked Baby Face.
“Oh my!” exclaimed Ellie. “That is right. You probably have never heard of Valentine’s Day.”
Baby Face lived in a cave in a remote area of Northern Ontario. He had little to no communication with the outside world.
“Well,” said Ellie. “Valentine’s Day is the day that we humans celebrate love.”
“Oh,” said Baby Face, intrigued. “How do you celebrate it?”
“Normally the males buy the females chocolate and flowers,” said Ellie. “Some men take their wives or girlfriends out for dinner.”
“Wow,” said Baby Face. “That does sound like fun.”
“It is a lot of fun,” said Ellie.
Baby Face went outside and found some dried out wildflowers. He gave them to Ellie.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” said Baby Face.
“Thank you very much,” said Ellie, giving Baby Face a kiss on his cheek. “That was very kind of you.”
Baby Face wanted to be kind to Ellie and he knew that he had done the right thing by giving her those flowers. He decided he would do more kind things to her each and every day, not just on Valentine’s Day. He saw the joy in her eyes when he gave her those flowers. He wanted to see that joy every day.
