Mr. Red Leaf – Character Insight
In a big, beautiful maple tree in Perth, Ontario, there lives a little leaf named Mr. Red Leaf. He’s not just any leaf; he’s a special autumn leaf with a bright red color and a very loud voice!
One windy autumn day, Mr. Red Leaf was having fun playing on his tree branch when suddenly, whoosh! The autumn wind came and blew him right off his tree.
“Hey!” shouted Mr. Red Leaf, feeling very surprised and a little bit angry. “I was not ready to fall down yet!”
Now, Mr. Red Leaf has a secret. Even though he looks like he’s frowning, he can talk just like you and me. And when he gets blown off the tree, he discovers his voice for the very first time.
“Wind, why did you do that?” he asked loudly.
But the wind just swirls around, not answering. So, Mr. Red Leaf decided to tell everyone in Storyland about what happened. He tells them once, he tells them twice, and he keeps telling them the same story over and over again.
The other Storyland friends listen at first, but after hearing the same story many times, they start to wander away, looking for new adventures. Mr. Red Leaf doesn’t understand why they’re leaving, and he feels a little lonely.
“Maybe,” thinks Mr. Red Leaf, “I should start asking my friends about their stories too.”
That’s what he decides to do next, learning that every friend has a tale to share, and listening can be just as fun as talking.
And so, Mr. Red Leaf learns to share and listen, making lots of new friends along the way. And even though he’s on the ground now, he’s still a very happy, very red, and very chatty leaf.
