Happy Summer Ending – Victor – A Monster’s Diary – Entry 28
Dear Diary: Summer is almost over and it is rare that I get such a happy summer ending but that is exactly what I got.
David, my great-great-great-great grandson came by after work tonight. I thought he just wanted to do some work on the biography but instead, he brought over a bottle of champagne and told me he had found a publisher for my biography. I was ecstatic.
David and I hugged each other, had one glass of champagne each and then we danced up a storm. We were both so excited.
The publisher had given David a contract for me to sign. I will be taking it to my lawyer tomorrow, just to make sure everything is legal.
A thought hit me and I discussed it with David. I wasn’t sure that I wanted the world to know my story. When I started writing my diary entries 160 years ago, I did it out of sheer boredom.
Then that boredom turned into habit and each night I would write a diary entry before going to bed. David told me that I should tell my story. We had discussed the other night how there may be other’s in my plight and maybe they could benefit from it.
I could see David’s point and in the end, I decided I would go ahead with the biography. I was happy and excited and it was a very happy summer ending.
