Missy Big Words – Weather

Missy Big Words was outside with her father. It was raining off and on throughout the day. The sun tried to come out several times but clouds were covering it. It seemed there was strange weather quite often lately. One day it was boiling hot and the next day it was cold and raining.

“We sure are having strange weather this summer,” said Missy Big Words. “It doesn’t know what it wants to do.”

“Weather,” repeated Daddy. “Now that is a big word.”

“Yes,” said Missy Big Words. “Weather is a big word. It refers to the different types of precipitation we get and the different temperature changes we have.”

“I am impressed,” said Daddy. “That is exactly what it means.”

“I suppose it will eventually make up it’s mind as to what it wants to do,” said Missy Big Words.

“Yes,” said Daddy. “I do suppose that is true. It is supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow. Maybe we can spend the day at the lake.”

“I would love that,” said Missy Big Words.

“Good,” said Daddy. “We have a date.”

“Weather permitting,” said Missy Big Words, laughing.
