Missy Big Words – Seasonal

“Those tires are seasonal,” said Daddy, talking to one of his customers on the phone. “They are winter tires. You are going to have to put your summer tires on.”

“Hi Daddy,” said Missy Big Words coming into the kitchen to get a popsicle so she could cool down. “I just learned a new big word.”

“Oh,” said Daddy, also taking a popsicle so he could cool down as well. “What big word did you just learn?”

“Seasonal,” said Missy Big Words. “I know what it means too.”

“And what does it mean?” asked Daddy.

“It means that something is only good for a season,” said Missy Big Words. “You know, like the tires on your customers car.”

“That is right,” said Daddy. “I am so proud of you.”

“You know what else is seasonal,” said Missy Big Words.

“What?” asked Daddy.

“These popsicles,” said Missy Big Words.

“Wow!” exclaimed Daddy. “I am very impressed. You are right. I never really thought about it before.”

“We usually eat them when it is hot outside,” explained Missy Big Words. “We usually drink hot chocolate when it is cold.”

Daddy was so amazed that Missy Big Words knew all about the word seasonal. He let her have another popsicle.
