A Playful Winter Day
“Look at all that glorious and fluffy snow that fell last night!” exclaimed Spearmint Jelly, peering out the frosty window.
“I see it,” replied Peppermint Jelly, her breath fogging up the glass. “Citrus wanted us to do our chores first, though.”
“Right,” said Spearmint, reluctantly tearing her gaze away from the winter wonderland outside. “Let’s go find Citrus and see what she wants us to do.”
Spearmint and Peppermint wandered from room to room in their cozy home, but Citrus was nowhere to be found.
“Where is she?” asked Spearmint, meeting up with Peppermint in the sunny, warm kitchen.
“She can’t be far,” said Peppermint, glancing at the sink full of breakfast dishes. “The morning dishes aren’t done yet.”
“That’s odd,” remarked Spearmint. “It was her turn to do them.”
Just then, Spearmint and Peppermint’s eyes were drawn to the kitchen window. Through the frost, they could see Citrus outside, racing down a huge, snow-covered hill on her soft, cushiony behind. The peals of her laughter reached them through the chilly air, and they felt the irresistible pull of the snowy outdoors.
“Come join me!” Citrus called, waving enthusiastically. “Chores can wait. Let’s enjoy this snowfall while we can. It won’t be here for long. Spring is just around the corner.”
Spearmint and Peppermint needed no further convincing. They bundled up in their warmest coats and rushed outside to join Citrus. The three of them spent the day laughing and playing in the snow, their cheeks rosy and their hearts full of joy.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the winter landscape, they returned inside. The fire crackled warmly in the hearth, welcoming them back to the comfort of home. They settled in with mugs of hot cocoa, reminiscing about their perfect snowy day and planning more adventures for the days to come.
