New Years Building 2025 – Apartment 5 – Fawn and Spot
Fawn and Spot stood side by side in the cozy barn, the soft glow of the winter sun casting a warm light over the rustic wooden beams. They lived a peaceful life, surrounded by the rolling hills and snow covered pastures of the countryside. As they gazed out the window, they knew that winter’s chill was far from over, and that they would have to endure some bad weather days ahead. But they were not ones to complain, for they knew that every season brought its own unique joys.
As they stood there, they couldn’t help but reflect on the old year, and all the wonderful memories they had made. They thought about the beautiful pond that Mr. Hansen, their kind owner, had built for them. The pond was a haven on hot summer days, a place where they could swim and cool off.
“I am very thankful to Mr. Hansen for building that pond for us,” said Fawn, her voice filled with gratitude. “I was able to swim and stay out of trouble.”
Spot nodded in agreement, her ears twitching with amusement.
“Good valid point,” she said.
“I love the pond too, and now I don’t have to worry about you quite so much.” Fawn chuckled, knowing that Spot often worried about his impulsive nature.
As they reminisced, Fawn recalled the bad thunderstorm that summer, and how Pesky Mosquito had convinced him to seek shelter in the barn.
“Thank goodness Pesky Mosquito had pestered me to get into the barn before that bad thunderstorm,” said Fawn, shuddering at the memory of the loud thunder and flashes of lightning.
“Yes,” said Spot, “I remember that. You were being so stubborn.”
Fawn also remembered the day he had introduced Chester Chipmunk to Batty, and how the two had become fast friends.
“Yes,” said Spot, after Fawn reminded her of that day. “It was a very unselfish gesture on your part, having Batty meet with Chester. That was a very nice thing you did.”
Fawn smiled, feeling happy that he had been able to bring joy to others.
As they stood there, lost in thought, Fawn turned to Spot and said, “I am ready to hop out of 2024 and hop into 2025.”
Spot nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with excitement. “Me too,” she said.
Just then, Hop Out and Hop In appeared in the barn, their bright smiles and infectious energy immediately lifting the mood. Fawn and Spot were a bit confused but happy to see them.
“We understand you are ready to hop out of 2024 and hop into 2025,” said Hop Out, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
Fawn and Spot exchanged a glance, and then nodded in unison.
“We are,” said Fawn, confidently.
Hop In grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
“We would like to invite you to the New Year’s Building,” he said.
Fawn and Spot were shocked, their eyes widening in surprise. They didn’t know what to say, because they were definitely not prepared for this. But as they looked at each other, they knew that they couldn’t miss this opportunity.
“Oh, thank you so much,” said Fawn, his voice filled with gratitude.
“This is quite the honor,” said Spot, her ears twitching with excitement.
Hop Out and Hop In smiled, clearly pleased with themselves.
“A well-deserved one,” said Hop In. “We know you will enjoy yourself. There is plenty of food, good music, and lots of dancing.”
And with that, Fawn and Spot followed Hop Out and Hop In to the New Year’s Building. As they walked, the snowflakes fell gently around them, casting a magical spell over the scene. When they arrived at the building, Fawn and Spot gasped in wonder. The building was a kaleidoscope of colors, with streamers and balloons everywhere. The air was filled with music and laughter, and Fawn and Spot felt like they were in a dream.
They spent the evening dancing and celebrating with their friends, feeling grateful for the joy and love that filled their lives. As the clock struck midnight, and the crowd erupted in cheers and applause, Fawn and Spot knew that this was a New Year’s Eve they would never forget.
As they looked out at the crowd of friends and acquaintances, they knew that they were exactly where they were meant to be – surrounded by love, laughter, and the magic of the New Year.
