Christmas Building 2024 – Apartment 17 – Neon Cop

Neon Cop navigated through the bustling mall, weaving past throngs of last-minute shoppers. The sound of holiday music and the aroma of freshly baked cookies filled the air, putting him in a festive mood. He had to find the perfect gifts for his wife, Suzie, and his step-daughter, Jayden. As he strolled through the crowded corridors, his eyes scanned the storefronts, searching for inspiration. Suddenly, a sparkle caught his eye – the jewelry store.

“I think I’ll go in there,” he said to himself, a plan forming in his mind.

As he entered the store, a friendly clerk greeted him.

“Can I help you?” she asked, her eyes shining with warmth.

Neon Cop smiled, his fluorescent-colored clothing making him stand out in the elegant store.

“I’m looking for matching bracelets for my wife and step-daughter,” he said, his voice filled with excitement.

The clerk’s face lit up.

“I think I have the perfect pair,” she said, disappearing into the back room.

As Neon Cop waited, he noticed a young boy peering through the glass display case beside him, his eyes fixed on a pair of diamond earrings. The boy’s father stood beside him.

“They’re very expensive,” the father said, his voice tinged with regret.

“They sure would look pretty on Mommy,” said the boy, as a tear formed in his eye.

Neon Cop’s heart went out to the boy and his father. He watched as they searched the discounted table, their faces filled with disappointment.

Just then, the clerk returned with the matching bracelets.

“We do have a buy two, get one free sale,” she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Neon Cop’s eyes met the boy’s, and he knew exactly what he had to do.

“I’ll take the earrings in that other display case,” he said, his voice firm.

The clerk smiled and began gift-wrapping the earrings. Neon Cop paid for the items, his heart swelling with joy.

As the boy and his father prepared to leave, Neon Cop caught up to them.

“Here,” he said, handing the gift-wrapped earrings to the boy.

“I had a talk with Santa, and he asked me to deliver this gift to you – for your mom.”

The boy’s eyes widened in wonder as he took the gift from Neon Cop.

“Is it the earrings?” he asked, his voice trembling with excitement.

Neon Cop smiled, his eyes twinkling with mirth. “Could be,” he said, winking at the boy.

The boy’s father looked at Neon Cop in amazement.

“You’re the Neon Cop,” he said, recognition dawning on his face.

Neon Cop nodded, his fluorescent clothing making him hard to miss.

“Why are you doing this for us?” the father asked, his voice filled with gratitude.

Neon Cop smiled, his heart full of joy.

“Because it’s Christmas,” he said, his voice simple yet profound.

The boy and his father hugged Neon Cop, thanking him for his kindness and generosity. As they walked away, Neon Cop felt a sense of satisfaction wash over him. He had made a difference in someone’s life, and that was the greatest gift of all.

Neon Cop returned home, feeling happy and content. He wrapped the matching bracelets and placed them under the tree, eager to see the looks on Suzie’s and Jayden’s faces when they opened their gifts. As he checked his email, he was surprised to see an invitation from the Christmas Building.

“That’s quite impressive,” Suzie said, her eyes shining with excitement, when Neon Cop showed it to her.

A limo pulled up into their driveway, and soon Neon Cop found himself standing outside the Christmas Building. The sound of music and laughter filled the air, and the smell of freshly baked desserts wafted through the corridors.

“Welcome,” said Lost Christmas Tree, his voice warm and inviting. “We hope you enjoy your stay. We have lots of food, music, and dancing.”

Neon Cop’s eyes widened in wonder as he took in the sights and sounds of the Christmas Building. He had never seen anything like it before.

“Why did you choose me?” he asked Lost Christmas Tree, feeling humble and grateful.

Lost Christmas Tree smiled, his eyes twinkling with mirth.

“Did you know that little boy’s mother was in an accident last week?” he asked. “She’s going to be okay, but she won’t be home for Christmas. You brightened up that little boy’s holiday by bringing joy to their lives.”

Neon Cop’s heart swelled with emotion as he remembered the boy and his father.

“I remember that accident,” he said, his voice filled with concern. “I was the first on the scene. I’m so happy to hear she’s going to be okay.”

Lost Christmas Tree Lost Christmas Tree nodded, his expression warm.

“It is your courage and humble heart that got you the invitation here,” he said.

Neon Cop felt a sense of pride and gratitude wash over him. He had never thought of himself as a hero, but in that moment, he felt like one.

As the night wore on, Neon Cop danced and laughed with the other guests, feeling like a kid again. The music was lively, and the atmosphere was joyful.

As the evening drew to a close, Neon Cop was presented with an award for his kindness and generosity. He was surprised and thrilled, his heart swelling with gratitude. As he accepted the award, he looked out at the crowd of people gathered before him, feeling grateful and humbled.

“Thank you,” he said, his voice filled with emotion. “This is an incredible honor. I am just glad that I could make a difference in someone’s life.”

The crowd erupted into applause, and Neon Cop felt a sense of pride and satisfaction wash over him. As he walked off the stage, award in hand, Neon Cop knew that this was a Christmas he would never forget. He had been reminded of the true spirit of the holiday, and he had been honored for his kindness and generosity. He left the Christmas Building feeling grateful, humbled, and filled with joy.
