Pesky Mosquito Meets Billy Troll

It was a hot summer day in Storyland, and the characters were all outside enjoying themselves, including Billy Troll and Pesky Mosquito.

Billy was preparing for a concert that evening. He was doing a last-minute sound check when he heard a familiar buzzing sound in his ear. Billy tried to ignore it, but the more he ignored it, the worse it got.

“Does anyone have a fly swatter or a can of bug spray?” Billy asked Danny, one of his band members.

“Sorry,” said Danny. “I can’t seem to find either.”

“I know there’s a mosquito buzzing in my ear, but at least he hasn’t stung me,” said Billy.

“Give him time,” said Danny. “Mosquitoes are such pests.”

Pesky Mosquito took this as an opportunity to show Billy and his band members that he could be good and not be a pest. He jumped down and landed on a piece of sheet music that Billy had in his hand.

“I can see you,” said Billy, raising his hand in the air, getting ready to swat Pesky.

“Please don’t swat me,” said Pesky. “I am a mosquito, but I promise not to bother you. All I want is to remove the stigma. I just want to make some friends.”

“I have an idea,” said Billy, picking up his guitar and strumming out a playful tune. “I will write a song about you. What is your name?”

“My name is Pesky,” said Pesky shyly, knowing he was most likely going to be ridiculed because of his name.

However, Billy just smiled at Pesky and sang his new song.

(Verse 1)

Oh, Pesky Mosquito, flying in the air,
With your buzzing sound, you give quite a scare.
But here in Storyland, on this sunny day,
You’ve made a promise that you’re here to play.

(Chorus)

No fly swatter needed, no bug spray in hand,
Pesky hasn’t stung me, he’s part of my band.
A friend not a foe, with his word he’ll stand,
He’s changing his ways, by demand.

(Verse 2)

You landed on my music sheet with grace,
Hoping for friendship in this open space.
I saw you there and raised my hand high,
|But instead of a swat, I let out a sigh.

(Verse 3)

No fly swatter needed, no bug spray near,
Pesky’s made a vow and it’s sincere.
He won’t be the pest that everyone fears,
In Storyland concert cheers.

(Verse 4)

A mosquito named Pesky might seem quite bizarre,
But he’s strumming along on my guitar.
With each playful tune and every strung chord,
He’s more than his name; he’s adored.

(Verse 5)
So here’s to Pesky Mosquito making amends,
Proving that even pesky bugs can make friends.
With no sting to worry and nothing to mend,
It’s music and laughter till the end.

“That is a great song,” said Pesky. “Maybe I can get people to like me and make some new friends.”

“As long as you don’t sting me,” said Billy, “I would be happy to be your friend.”

Pesky, wiping a tear from his eye, kept his promise to Billy and was thrilled that he had made a new friend. He was determined to change his reputation for the better, despite his name and what he was.

Moral of this Story:

  • Good friends help you see things from a different perspective and encourage you to make positive changes in your life.
  • Example: Pesky shows that he can be a friend and not a nuisance, and Billy even writes a song about him, celebrating his positive qualities.
