Summer Swim

“It is such a warm summer day,” said Canada Moose to himself. “I want to go for a swim. I need to find a lake where I can swim by myself because all the others animals tease me when I swim.”

Canada Moose knew where there was a lake that he could swim in by himself. It was way up in the mountains. Canada Moose walked up to the lake. He carefully peered around the first tree he saw. There was nobody in the lake.

“I hope there will still be nobody in the lake when I actually get to it,” said Canada Moose.

Canada Moose walked up to the second tree. He saw there was still nobody there. He noticed it was getting warmer out.

“I hope I get to the lake soon,” said Canada Moose. “It is very warm now.”

Canada Moose walked over to the third tree and he saw there was still nobody at the lake but, it was starting to get dark.

“I hope I get to the lake soon,” said Canada Moose. “I can’t wait to go swimming!”

At the very edge of the trees, Canada Moose saw the lake was still empty but it was almost dark out now.

“Almost there,” said Canada Moose.

Canada Moose was only feet away from the lake. He ran and jumped into the water as fast as he could go.

“Oh this feels so nice,” said Canada Moose, standing in the middle of the lake. “Nobody can bother me here. This will be my lake.”

Whenever Canada Moose wanted to swim by himself he went to his lake, way up in the mountains and all the other animals knew not to go there.

Moral of this Story:

  • It isn’t nice to tease someone.
  • Example: Canada Moose thought it best if he finds a lake all to himself that he can go swimming in because some of the other animals were teasing him.
