A Disappearing Act
“It is Halloween,” said Fawn. “We should visit Spooky Ghost.”
“Good idea,” said Spot. “We haven’t seen Spooky in a few years.”
“He will be surprised to see us,” said Fawn.
Fawn and Spot walked down the mountain road, just west of Kamloops, BC to the haunted house where Spooky lived. Once they reached the front door, they knocked on the door. There was no answer. They thought that was very strange because the Spooky they knew would never ever leave the haunted house he lived in. He was too scared to leave.
Fawn and Spot walked back home. They were sad and upset that Spooky wasn’t home.
“What is going on with the two of you?” asked Jayden Hansen, one of their owners, when she saw their long faces. “You two cows look like you have seen a ghost.”
“Actually,” said Fawn. “It is quite the opposite. We went to visit Spooky but he wasn’t home.”
“It was actually quite odd,” said Spot. “The Spooky we know never leaves his house. It is like he is playing a disappearing act on us.”
“You two are so silly,” laughed Jayden. “I visited Spooky earlier today. I brought him here.”
Spooky laughed.
“Oh my!” cried Fawn. “I am so happy you are here.”
“Me too,” said Spot.
“I wasn’t going to come,” said Spooky. “But Jayden said you were here. I thought you two were playing a disappearing act on me.”
