Happy Balloon Family’s Mother’s Day

“It is Mother’s Day,” said Daddy Balloon to his two children, Sissy Balloon and Baby Balloon, while they were flying around Storyland. “Let’s be nice to Mother today and give her a special day.”

Sissy and Baby were on their best behaviour. They didn’t argue or bicker with one another. They tidied up around them and they got themselves dressed.

“I need help with my balloon string,” said Sissy. “Mommy usually helps me with it but I don’t want to bother her.”

“I can help you with that,” said Daddy.

Daddy proceeded to help Sissy tie up her balloon strings. Mommy was floating close by.

“Why didn’t you ask me to help you?” asked Mommy. “You know I always tie your balloon strings.”

“I didn’t want to bother you,” said Sissy.

“And why not?” asked Mommy, confused.

“It’s Mother’s Day,” explained Daddy. “The children and I wanted you to have a special day today.”

“I do appreciate that very much,” said Mommy, reaching over to tie up Sissy’s balloon string for her. “However, a mother’s work is never done.”

“Happy Mother’s Day,” said Daddy, Sissy and Baby.

Mommy gave them all a big hug and kiss.
