Beatrice Bee and Summer Honey
It was a beautiful summer day at Storyland. Beatrice Bee had several pails of honey. She knew she wouldn’t be able to use it all, so she decided she would give away five pails of it. She didn’t want to see any of it go to waste. She decided she would find five Storyland characters to give the honey to.
“I will visit Alphabet Allie first,” said Beatrice Bee.
Beatrice knew that Alphabet Allie did a lot of good by teaching people the letters of the alphabet.
“Would you like a pail of honey?” asked Beatrice Bee.
“I would love a pail of honey,” said Alphabet Allie. “‘H’ is for honey.”
“Good,” said Beatrice. “I choose you because you always help people. ‘H’ is for help.”
“Thank you,” said Alphabet Allie.
Beatrice had four more pails of honey to give away. She thought about who to give the next one to.
“I think I will give the next one to Angry Baker,” said Beatrice. “I love his baked goods.”
“What do you want?” asked Angry Baker, angrily. “I am a busy man. I have lots of baking to do.”
“Would you like a pail of honey?” asked Beatrice.
“Oh,” said Angry Baker. “I am sorry for snapping at you. I would love a pail of honey.”
Beatrice gave Angry Baker a pail of honey. She had three pails of honey left. She thought of who she would give the next one to.
“I think I will give the next pail of honey to Billy Troll,” said Beatrice. “He makes music that is as sweet as honey.”
“A pail of sweet honey,” sang Billy, strumming on his guitar, when Beatrice asked him if he would like one. “That didn’t cost any money. So I will trade for this song and know I did no wrong.”
“Thank you,” said Beatrice. “I love my song.”
Beatrice gave Billy Troll a pail of honey. That left her with two pails. She thought about who to give the next one to.
“I think I will give the next pail of honey to Arrow,” said Beatrice. “He is a good cat and he likes to eat.”
“Would you like a pail of honey?” asked Beatrice, when she saw Arrow.
“I would love some honey,” said Arrow. “Do I have to share it with my sister, Cutie?”
“Sharing would be a nice thing to do,” said Beatrice.
“But Cutie likes to swat me,” said Arrow.
“I bet she wouldn’t swat you if you shared the honey with her,” said Beatrice.
“You are probably right,” said Arrow.
Beatrice gave Arrow a pail of honey. She had one pail of honey left to give away. She thought of who she would give the last one to.
“I think I will give the last pail of honey to Jayden,” said Beatrice. “Jayden is the sweetest girl I know.”
Beatrice took her last pail of honey and gave it to Jayden. Jayden loved it because she loved honey.
“Thank you,” said Jayden. “I will bake some honey muffins with it.”
“Good,” said Beatrice. “I am glad you will be able to use it.”
“Absolutely,” said Jayden. “Come back later and you can have one of my honey muffins.”
“I will,” said Beatrice. “That sounds wonderful!”
Beatrice was very happy about the choices she made in giving away her five pails of honey. She knew the honey would not go to waste and that it would get used up.
