“I am having a hard time in this summer heat,” said Beatrice Bee, landing on a fence post where there was a little bit of shade.
Beatrice Bee wasn’t the only one having a problem with the heat. This was the third week with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius. The heat was making it hard to breathe.
“I love summer weather,” said Beatrice Bee. “However, there is such a thing as too much heat.”
Beatrice Bee was getting annoyed and grumpy. The heat was making her miserable. It also was making her lazy.
“I need to get some water,” said Beatrice. “I am very thirsty but this heat is making me very lazy.”
Beatrice Bee saw a bird bath about fifty feet away. She got up all the energy she could muster and made her way to the bird bath. She took a very long drink of water “That made me feel so much better,” said Beatrice Bee.
“I don’t feel grumpy, I have my energy back and I don’t feel the heat as much as I did earlier. I think I may have been dehydrated . It is important to stay hydrated when it is hot.”
Beatrice Bee learned to always drink lots of water when it is hot outside.
