Christmas Spirit

Snow is falling from up above
Children’s voices are ringing out
The air is crisp and oh, so cold
”Merry Christmas!” the children all shout

The stars above, sparkle in the sky
The children’s faces are glowing bright
For they are caroling from door to door
Oh, what a precious sight

An old lonely man opens up his door
The sound of the voices, pure and sweet
Tears form in his wrinkled eyes
He is given a most special treat

”No-one has ever bothered with me,
No-one has ever cared,
But, you sweet children are the only ones,
That have ever dared.”

“Oh how sweet your voices sound,
To me, on this glorious day.
You have given me my Christmas spirit back
Which I believed was, long ago, taken away.”
