Springman lives with his parents in Storyland Canada – Misfits World. He was originally made from an old rusted spring, but his mother took the time to scrub away all the rust until he became gleaming and shiny. Because he is so proud of his clean look and knows how unpleasant rust can be, he has developed a deep fear of moisture. If there is even a single drop of rain falling from the sky, Springman will not set foot outdoors.
His fear of rust has turned Springman into a mommy’s boy, always seeking his mother’s reassurance. This is concerning to his father, who wants him to be more confident and often tries to toughen him up. Despite his worries, Springman is very active and loves going for walks, exercising, and taking in the beauty of nature while watching local wildlife. He also roams around Storyland gathering stray screws, springs, nails, nuts, and bolts, carefully keeping them in case one of them turns out to be alive just like him.
