Good Luck

On a very warm St. Patrick’s Day, Hoppy Bunny visited with his friend, Lucky Leprechaun.

“Come in,” said Lucky Leprechaun. “It is nice for you to come for a visit. Would you like a cookie?”

“I would love a cookie,” said Hoppy. “Did you bake them yourself?”

“No,” said Lucky Leprechaun. “I got them at the bakery.”

“I went there today,” said Hoppy. “But they were all gone when I got there.”

“These were the last ones,” said Lucky Leprechaun. “I guess I was just lucky.”

Lucky Leprechaun and Hoppy enjoyed some cookies and then they went outside to play.

“Oh look,” said Lucky Leprechaun, seeing a shiny new coin on the ground. “I found a coin.”

“You really are lucky,” said Hoppy. “I sure wish I had some good luck. What is your secret?”

“You know,” said Lucky Leprechaun. “I really don’t have a secret other than I believe in good luck. You can have good luck too if you believe.”

“I do believe in good luck,” said Hoppy.

“Well then,” said Lucky Leprechaun. “You should have good luck too.”

Hoppy and Lucky Leprechaun continued playing when all of a sudden Hoppy stopped and bent over.

“Hoppy,” said Lucky Leprechaun. “What are you doing?”

“I found a four-leaf clover,” said Hoppy, smiling.

“Oh Hoppy!” exclaimed Lucky Leprechaun. “You are going to have the best luck of all. Four-leaf clovers are very hard to find and the fact that you found one on St. Patrick’s Day is even better.”

Hoppy was very lucky for a very long time after that and that was because he carried that four-leaf clover around with him wherever he went.
