Summer Emotions
Skinny Matilda was walking along the beach on a very warm summer morning. She had her bikini on and was just about to step into the water when she felt drops of rain on her arms.
“I am sad,” said Skinny Matilda. “I wanted to go for a swim.”
Skinny Matilda started to walk home. The rain did feel good on her arms. It was cooling her down. However, it still didn’t change her mind about being sad.
“There aren’t too many more days of summer left and I really want to go swimming,” said Skinny Matilda.
Skinny Matilda went home. About an hour later, she noticed the rain had stopped so, she went back to the beach. A few minutes later, she felt rain drops on her arms again. She looked up at the sky and she saw that the clouds were very dark. A few minutes later, she saw a streak of lightning light up the sky.
“I am so angry,” said Skinny Matilda. “How dare it rain, again, and how dare lightning light up the sky!”
Skinny Matilda ran home as fast as she could go. She was so angry that she went to her freezer and made herself a very large low-fat yogurt cone.
“Now I am happy,” said Skinny Matilda, taking a huge bite out of her cone. “I guess swimming will have to wait .”
