Mrs. Tulip Waiting for Spring

“Is it spring yet?” Mrs. Tulip asked herself.

Mrs. Tulip was buried in the ground waiting for the weather to warm up so that she could come alive. Mrs. Tulip wasn’t a regular tulip. She was a tulip in the sense that she grows from a bulb in the ground but she also can walk and talk. When she comes alive she loves to spend her time walking around the garden.

“It seems the winter is a long one,” said Mrs. Tulip. “I can still feel the cold and dampness in the ground. It may be awhile yet before spring is here.”

A few days later, Mrs. Tulip felt the ground starting to warm up. She was hopeful that it wouldn’t be long before spring was finally here. However, her hopes were dashed when she felt the ground become cold again.

“This is very frustrating,” said Mrs. Tulip.

Another week went by and Mrs. Tulip noticed it was getting warmer. She didn’t want to get her hopes up this time because she didn’t want to be disappointed. However, day after day the ground continued to warm up.

Finally, spring was here. Mrs. Tulip was so happy that she was finally able to come alive and poke her head out of the ground. Her legs were a bit wobbly at first, but soon enough she was enjoying her walks around the garden and being able to talk with her friends.

“I see spring is finally here,” said Mrs. Tulip’s friend, Mrs. Robin.

“It is about time,” said Mrs. Tulip’s friend, Mr. Squirrel.

“It certainly is,” said Mrs. Tulip, smiling.
