“Why did I ever agree to work on the railroad?” Unlucky Uncle Ungus thought to himself as he poured over his old photo albums. “I should have worked harder to become a banker. I would have made a good banker despite what that one bank manager told me.”
When Unlucky Uncle Ungus was born, it was on Friday the 13th. Since his birth he has felt very unlucky. In his early 20’s, he went for a job interview at a bank. The bank manager looked at his date of birth and told him that because he was born on Friday the 13th, he was too unlucky to be in charge of managing money. Unlucky Uncle Ungus felt very angry after that. He didn’t want anything to do with anyone and wanted to live his life alone so he ended up taking a job on the railroad.
For about 45 years, Unlucky Uncle Ungus worked on the railroad. There wasn’t a single day in his whole life that he enjoyed his work. He felt he had very good mathematical skills and he felt he was cheated out of a career as a banker.
Unlucky Uncle Ungus had a very unlucky life. He was constantly angry at life. He became unruly at every situation life brings to him.
Unlucky Uncle Ungus is now 70 years old. He never married and he never wanted to have children. He felt his life was so unlucky enough without bringing others into the situation.
