Pumpkin Fairy and the Pumpkin Prince

“Hello,” said Mrs. Jones as she walked by Farmer John, who was outside in his pumpkin patch.

“How are you today?” asked Farmer John.

“Enjoying this beautiful autumn day,” said Mrs. Jones.

“So are my pumpkins,” said Farmer John.

“Speaking of pumpkins,” said Mrs. Jones. “I had a dream last night that a pumpkin prince is coming to one of the pumpkin patches.”

“That is strange,” said Farmer John. “I had the same dream.”

“We must tell Pumpkin Fairy about our dreams,” said Mrs. Jones.

Farmer John and Mrs. Jones looked for Pumpkin Fairy. They found her talking to her boss, Linda Patterson, who is the owner of the pumpkin patch Pumpkin Fairy was raised at and works at.

“I can tell you that the dream about the pumpkin prince is real,” said Pumpkin Fairy. “Linda, we must prepare the pumpkin patch for the biggest season ever. The arrival of Pumpkin Prince is a huge celebration.”

Everyone worked hard preparing their pumpkin patches for the arrival of the pumpkin prince.

“So,” said Linda, a few days later. “Where is the pumpkin prince?”

“He will be here,” said Pumpkin Fairy.

“I sure hope so,” said Linda. “The crowds of people are starting to dwindle. They are angry because no prince has shown up yet.”

“Unfortunately,” said Pumpkin Fairy. “I don’t know when the prince will show up or even which pumpkin patch he will appear in. However, he will appear. We just have to have patience.”

“I am trying to be patient,” said Linda. “However, it is hard to do. I do hope he will come to my pumpkin patch. It is the biggest pumpkin patch in the northern section of the county.”

“We will just have to wait and see,” said Pumpkin Fairy.

Pumpkin Fairy was at the far end of the pumpkin patch. She saw a golden pumpkin in the middle of the field. She knew as soon as she saw it that it was the pumpkin prince.

“The prince is here!” shouted Pumpkin Fairy.

Linda was the first person to reach Pumpkin Fairy and the pumpkin prince. She was disappointed when she first laid eyes on him.

“This is no prince,” said Linda. “This is just a golden pumpkin.”

As soon as she said those words, “golden pumpkin”, she knew it was the pumpkin prince.

“Oh my!” exclaimed Linda. “It is Pumpkin Prince! He is here and he is at my pumpkin patch!”

There was a grand celebration at the pumpkin patch. Everyone was so excited. Linda was ecstatic because Pumpkin Prince had chosen her pumpkin patch. She was going to make a lot of money because of the prince.

People started showing up at the pumpkin patch in droves. Everyone wanted to see Pumpkin Prince.

Early one autumn morning, before the crowds of people showed up at the pumpkin patch, Pumpkin Fairy had a chance to talk to Pumpkin Prince.

“So,” said Pumpkin Fairy. “Linda, the owner of this pumpkin patch is very happy that you are here.”

“What about you?” asked Pumpkin Prince. “Are you happy that I am here?”

“Of course,” said Pumpkin Fairy. “I am very happy you are here.”

“Don’t you want to know why I am here?” asked Pumpkin Prince.

“I was going to eventually get around to asking you that,” said Pumpkin Fairy. “I need to seek the truth.”

“The truth is very important,” said Pumpkin Prince. “The reason I am here, in this particular pumpkin patch, is because I am searching for my wife. When I find her, I will turn back into a human.”

“I see,” said Pumpkin Fairy, a little bit hurt from what Pumpkin Prince had just said.

“Will you marry me?” asked Pumpkin Prince. “Will you be my wife?”

“I thought you were looking for your wife,” said Pumpkin Fairy, not believing what she had just heard.

“I was,” said Pumpkin Prince. “I just found her.”

“Oh dear!” cried Pumpkin Fairy.

“Now, back to my question,” said Pumpkin Prince. “Will you marry me?”

“Of course!” exclaimed Pumpkin Fairy.

Pumpkin Fairy leaned over and gave Pumpkin Prince a kiss and when she did, the most handsome man stood in the pumpkin patch in place of the golden pumpkin. He wrapped his arms around Pumpkin Fairy tightly.

“We have a wedding to plan,” said Pumpkin Prince.

“We do,” said Pumpkin Fairy, in tears.
