Grampy’s Little Green Car is Jealous

Grampy was in his garage one warm summer morning. He was cleaning out the garage. Grampy’s Little Green Car was watching him.

“Grampy always keeps himself busy,” said Grampy’s Little Green Car to himself. “It is nice to spend time with him. I love Grampy very much.”

Grampy swept the garage floor and when he was done, he got into his little green car and started it up.

“Oh goodie!” exclaimed Grampy’s Little Green Car. “We are going for a drive.”

Grampy’s Little Green Car was on his best behaviour. He made his engine purr like a kitten.

“You sound really good today,” said Grampy, pulling out of the driveway. “It is too bad that we can’t go for a drive today.”

“What do you mean we can’t go for a drive?” Grampy’s Little Green Car thought to himself. “That isn’t fair. Why did you take me out of the garage?”

Grampy’s Little Green Car was very upset. He didn’t want to be left out in the hot summer sun.

“I am going to have paint peeling off me,” said Grampy’s Little Green Car to himself. “I am going to make my engine sputter.”

Just before Grampy turned the key to shut the engine to his little green car off, Grampy’s Little Green Car sputtered.

“Don’t be like that,” said Grampy. “You were running good a minute ago. I don’t have time for nonsense today.”

Grampy got out of his little green car and locked the doors. Grampy’s Little Green Car watched Grampy go back into the garage. A few minutes later, Grampy’s Little Green Car saw a car pull into the driveway and then into the garage.

“Is Grampy trading me in?” Grampy’s Little Green Car asked himself. “I am very jealous.”

Grampy’s Little Green Car could hear Grampy laughing and joking around about the other car, but he couldn’t understand what it was he was saying.

“Nice car,” Grampy said. “I would love to own this one but I don’t want two cars. Besides, I could never get rid of the my little green car.

About an hour later, Grampy drove the other car out of the garage and he parked it in front of his little green car.

“What are you staring at?” asked the other car to Grampy’s Little Green Car.

“I wasn’t staring,” said Grampy’s Little Green Car. “Why are you here?”

“Grampy was just fixing me,” said the other car. “Aunt Judy is going to buy me.”

“Oh,” said Grampy’s Little Green Car. “So Grampy isn’t trading me in for you?”

“Not a chance,” said the other car. “He loves you!”

Grampy’s Little Green Car was so happy that Grampy wasn’t going to trade him in. However, he also felt bad for doubting Grampy.

“I better be on my best behaviour,” said Grampy’s Little Green Car.

Grampy got into his little green car and started it up. His little green car purred.

“You sound so good,” said Grampy. “Much better than Aunt Judy’s car. I think we should go for a drive.”

Grampy and his little green car had the best drive ever. They had a lot of fun on the open highway. Grampy’s Little Green Car was able to put his jealous feelings to rest. He knew Grampy would never get rid of him.
