Spooky Day
“Hello,” said Fawn on Halloween morning. “How are you?”
Spot turned around and when she saw Fawn’s face, she burst into a fit of laughter. He had a pig’s face as a mask on.
“Fawn,” laughed Spot. “It’s too early to be dressed up for Halloween.”
“Too early,” said Fawn. “What are you talking about? Today is Halloween, isn’t it?”
“Yes it is,” said Spot. “But, you don’t go trick-or-treating until tonight.”
“What good is that?” asked Fawn, taking his mask off. “I don’t want to wait. I wanted to go trick-or-treating right now.”
“You can’t,” said Spot. “No-one will have any candy to give you because no-one will be expecting you to come until tonight. Besides, being night time is half the fun of Halloween.”
“I guess that’s true,” said Fawn. “That means I have to wait and wait to get any candy.”
“Fawn,” laughed Spot. “I sure hope that someone gives you a big dose of patience in your candy!”
