Heather just finished working in her garden. She went inside and washed up. She just happened to look over at the calendar that hung on her refrigerator.
“Oh my!” exclaimed Heather. “It is the middle of August already. Summer is almost over.”
This had been a very busy summer for Heather. Between working and her gardening she didn’t have much time to do anything fun this summer.
“I need to do something fun,” said Heather. “Summer will be over before I know it and then it will be too late.
Heather thought about all the fun things she would like to do.
“I would really like to go swimming,” said Heather. “It is something I haven’t done in a very long time and it is something I enjoy doing.”
The next day, Heather grabbed her bathing suit and a towel and walked the short distance to the pond.
“The water is so cool and so refreshing,” said Heather. “I really needed this swim.”
Heather spent a few hours at the pond. She enjoyed herself immensely.
“Sometimes you just have to have some summer fun,” said Heather. “After all, that is what summer is for.”
