Arrow Meets Cutie

Mommy and Daddy had just moved to Calgary, Alberta with their cat, Arrow. Mommy picked Arrow up out of the car and was carrying him into their new home, when Arrow gave Mommy the funniest look ever.

“Did you see the look he just gave you?” asked Daddy.

“Yes,” said Mommy. “I did. I wonder what that was all about.”

“I think I know,” said Daddy. “I bet he thought he was going on a much longer road trip.”

“You know,” said Mommy. “Knowing Arrow, you are probably right.”

Arrow has traveled across Canada twice now. He absolutely loves going for a road trip and for Arrow, the longer the road trip, the better.

“We will just have to take him for a lot more road trips,” said Daddy, giving Arrow a pat on the head.

“He would love that,” said Mommy.

Mommy and Daddy opened the door to their new home and they let Arrow down so he could do some investigating. Arrow walked down the hallway and he stopped right in front of the bedroom door. He sat there for the longest time.

“What is he doing?” asked Daddy.

“I don’t know,” said Mommy. “It is a new environment so maybe he is just scared.”

“Maybe,” said Daddy. “But something tells me there is more to it than that.”

Daddy walked down the hallway and he went into the bedroom that Arrow had been staring at.

“Oh my!” exclaimed Daddy, when he saw what Arrow had been looking at. “Aren’t you just a little cutie?”

Daddy walked out of the bedroom and Mommy couldn’t believe what Daddy had in his arms.

“What a cutie she is,” said Mommy when she saw the most adorable little cat in Daddy’s arms. “It is no wonder Arrow was just sitting there. staring at her.”

“I wonder who she belongs to,” said Daddy.

“I don’t know,” said Mommy. “But I would love to have her.”

“Me too,” said Daddy.

Mommy and Daddy went into the kitchen and they saw a note on the fridge door.

“Please take care of Cutie,” Daddy read. “I had to leave her behind.”

“I would love to take care of her,” said Mommy, taking Cutie from Daddy and hugging her tightly. “Welcome to our family.”

“Yes,” said Daddy, petting Cutie on the forehead.

“Meow!” cried Arrow happily when he came into the kitchen.

Mommy set Cutie on the floor and she went straight up to Arrow and swatted him.

“Cutie,” said Daddy. “Be nice to your brother.”

“Cutie is a typical girl,” said Mommy.

“Yes,” said Daddy, laughing. “She sure is.”

Arrow wanted to play with Cutie despite the swat she just gave him. He went up to Cutie and gave her a big kiss.

“Awe,” said Mommy. “They are going to be the best of friends.”

“Yes,” said Daddy. “I do believe they will get along just fine together.”
