Fawn’s Long Cold Walk
Fawn decided that he wanted to go outside and get some fresh air. He was sick of being cooped up in his barn. It had been raining and snowing for the past couple of days.
“Where are you going?” asked Spot, seeing Fawn all bundled up at the front door.
“I’m going for a walk,” said Fawn.
“It is really cold out today,” said Spot. “But I see that you are dressed for it.”
“Do you want to come?” asked Fawn.
“Well I would,” said Spot. “But I’m not feeling all that great today.”
“No,” said Fawn. “Then your better off to stay home. I won’t be long, I just need to get some fresh air.”
“Okay,” said Spot, looking down at Fawn’s boots. “You’d better make sure you tie up your boots though. You don’t want to trip.”
Fawn got his boots tied up properly and then he had to go to the washroom.
“Oh Fawn,” laughed Spot, as she watched him undress in a hurry. “You will never learn will you? You are supposed to go to the washroom before you get dressed.”
Finally Fawn was dressed once again to go outside.
“I won’t be long,” said Fawn.
“Okay,” said Spot. “Don’t stay out too long though, Fawn. It is really cold out there.”
“Ah,” said Fawn. “I can handle it.”
Fawn walked out the front door of the barn. The sun was shining so bright on the snow that it almost blinded him but it felt really good being outside in the fresh winter air.
“There is nothing like a blast of fresh winter air,” said Fawn, sniffing the air.
Fawn started to walk up the laneway to the main house when a big gust of wind came roaring over the hill behind him and it almost knocked him over. The wind was really cold too and it froze Fawn’s cheeks and almost took his breath away.
“What are you doing back so soon?” asked Spot, with a look of I told you so on her face. “I thought you could handle it.”
